Hey there, I’m Thomas Ansems, a resident of the charming town of Epe, nestled just above Apeldoorn.
In this cozy corner of the world, I share my humble abode with my loving wife and our adorable 1-year-old daughter, creating a warm and nurturing environment. With an entrepreneurial spirit burning within me, I fearlessly embark on new ventures and embrace the challenges that come my way, constantly seeking growth and success. Beyond my professional pursuits, I find immense joy in the company of my cherished friends and family, relishing the laughter, support, and treasured moments we share together. What would you like people to know about you?
Well, let me start by saying that I proudly identify as a friendly Brabander. It’s something we Brabanders tend to claim about ourselves, and since my roots are firmly planted there, I wholeheartedly embrace the sentiment. Carnival, without a doubt, holds a special place in my heart and is one of my favorite times of the year. During this festive season, you’ll likely find me joining in the merriment, dancing, celebrating, and indulging in some pils (beer) somewhere in the vibrant southeast region of Brabant.
Do you have a life motto? what is it?
When asked about having a life motto, I find myself contemplating the essence of existence and the purpose behind such guiding principles. Is it necessary to have a concise phrase or mantra that encapsulates the entirety of one’s being? Or perhaps, instead of searching for a specific motto, should I simply strive to live authentically and embrace the present moment?
Life is a dynamic journey, filled with twists and turns, triumphs and challenges, moments of clarity and times of uncertainty. In this intricate tapestry of experiences, it may be more valuable to cultivate a mindset of openness and curiosity, allowing ourselves to be fully present and responsive to the ever-changing circumstances that unfold before us.
Do you have interesting hobbies?
Oh yes, I never bluff. Well, at least that’s what I want people to think of me at the poker table. Poker is one of my hobbies. I’ve been playing for at least 15 years. I love sitting at a poker table and interacting with players to try and figure out the value of their hands. Playing tournaments abroad is a great addition to an enjoyable vacation for me. I also recently started FPV flying, ask me about it.
Any bloopers in the past you would like to share?
I have a thrilling tale to share from my time in the US. After a successful stint at the vibrant Las Vegas strip, where fortune favored me, I found myself driving down the highway at an exhilarating speed of 120 miles per hour. However, my heart sank when the flashing lights of a police car appeared in my rearview mirror, signaling the end of my adrenaline-fueled joyride. Caught for my excessive speed, I received a hefty ticket that significantly diminished the winnings I had accumulated during my time in Las Vegas.
What is the most “nerdy thing” about you?
My favorite game is Rocket League. I’ve even been to esports tournaments to watch the best players compete live. I try to explain to non-nerds that it’s actually really cool, with lots of beer and laughter, but they don’t always get it.
With what it problem should the person who read this, contact you immediately, as you cannot wait to solve it?
When it comes to tackling challenges, I possess a knack for devising practical solutions that span across a diverse array of problems. With my analytical mindset and creative problem-solving skills, I can navigate complex issues and provide effective strategies tailored to the situation at hand. Furthermore, I am an excellent listener and communicator, making me an ideal partner for the technique known as “rubber ducking” – simply reach out and give me a call, and together we can unravel any conundrum you may be facing.
Tell us any (weird) fun fact about you?
Ah, the tale of my ill-fated watermelon tattoo still brings a smile to my face. While the intention was to immortalize my love for this juicy fruit, the end result was a tattoo that, much to my chagrin, bore a striking resemblance to a delectable slice of pizza instead. It serves as a quirky reminder that even the best-laid plans can sometimes take an unexpected turn, leaving us with amusing anecdotes that add color to our life’s narrative.
